Haldon Forest Park, Forestry Commission Woodland Nr Exeter

The Sherwoods took advantage of a rare opportunity in the August Holidays this week to get out and explore a little further afield. Haldon Forest Park is a 20 min drive from The Cleveland Guest House, but well worth it. There is plenty of walking here, most of it on well-made, level paths. The Gruffalo Trail is great for the kids (and adults!) and the butterfly conservation area is just amazing! There are also lots of cycle routes (mostly off-road through the forest) as well as cycle hire if you don’t want to bring you own. There is also a Go Ape high wire forest adventure course for the more adventurous. The cafe does great food and there is plenty of seating if you take a picnic. All in all, a great day out for all the family to enjoy – as we did!
