South Devon Railway, Totnes to Buckfastleigh

Always a great family day out! We choose to park in Totnes (Pavillions long stay) and get on at Totnes station, which is just a 5 mins walk along the river Dart. You can also drive to Buckfastleigh and do the opposite journey.

After buying our tickets, there is time for a quick coffee in the lovely Rare Breeds Farm cafe, sitting outside in the sun.

Then its off on the 30 mins journey travelling along the river Dart, via Staverton. It is a very picturesque route with plenty to spot on the way.

In Buckfastliegh there is a small steam museum, cafe, model railway and shop - lots to see and do whilst you are there.

Then, its back on the train for the return journey home.

Totnes is also worth a stroll whilst you are there. An altogether fun-packed family day!
