Another lovely family day out to Dartmoor last weekend, starting with a picnic on the Moors and ending with a visit to Becky Falls.

Becky Falls is approx 40 min drive from The Cleveland, via Newton Abbott. There is lots to see and do for all ages.

Of course, there are the falls which can be seen at the bottom the woodland footpath that winds its way down to the bridge crossing.

There are then two routes to choose from. The red route is the easiest and leads you gently back up to the main falls.

The purple route is more strenuous, especially the final climb, but is worth it to see the lower falls and more of the wonderful woodlands.

Back at the main falls the kids (and big kids!) will love the boulder climbing over the river.

Back at the main hub there is a good cafe and restaurant (we can recommend the Lovingtons ice cream!) & gift shop.

For the younger ones, there is a small animal petting area with rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and miniature goats - feeding times are throughout the day.

There is also a small reptile house around the back of the main buildings which is well worth a look. Don't forget to say 'hello' to the owls and meerkats on the way!
